It was some days back that i saw this truck, and the vibration of neurons at its sight left an intriguing effect on me. The side of the truck said ACIDS AND SOLVENTS in bold letters of bloody red color. On its trail however there was this skull and bones sign that threatened, not that orthodox danger rather it screamed 'virgin'. I managed to gather some gags before realizing that the truck or the one's who labelled it unintentionally(presumably) stated that virgins are synonymous with danger. It also made me wonder, why is it that every time our ear drums are struck with the word 'virgin' our brain cells think of it in sexual context? Why don't we use the word virgin for referring to anything that is in its pure state. There has to be some sort of a sane explanation to this. Is the state of being a virgin SAFE or loosing it is dangerous or vice versa and when and why. Why are we always hell bound to the axioms of the society laid down largely on irrational beliefs? I wonder as I ponder!!!
ps: why do we think of women when talked of virgins? Can't men be virgins?
